Learn More About Opioids

Dose of Reality has tools to help you understand how opioids impact communities and how to use them safely. It also has tips on how you can have open and honest conversations about opioids, respond to an overdose, and find help: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/opioids/index.htm

Free & Safe disposal of your unused, unwanted, or expired medications. Steps listed below.

Step 1:

Put pills in a clear, sealable bag. Keep liquids, creams, powders, and inhalers in their original containers.

Step 2:

Remove all personal information from empty pill bottles and recycle.

Step 3:

Put pills, liquids, creams, and inhalers into the Drop Box.

Items not accepted:

  • IV bags
  • Needles
  • Personal care products with no medication (i.e. lotion)
  • Radioactive chemo drugs
  • Vapes
  • Vitamins

Bring in your unused, unwanted, or expired prescription medication to a local drop box for free. Drop boxes are located at your local Police Department and select pharmacies:

Never Use Alone is a national overdose prevention line available all hours of every day. People can call 800-484-3731 to speak with an operator, all of whom have lived experience. NEVER USE ALONE - No Judgement, No Shaming, No Preaching, JUST LOVE! Call if you're going to use when you're alone. An operator will ask for your first name, EXACT location, and the # you're calling from. If you stop responding after using, we will notify EMS of your location, & possible overdose.
